Sasma Halsteren Facility On Track To Open April 2026
Sasma’s new Halsteren warehouse is progressing as planned. This marks a significant investment in our long-term production, storage, and service capabilities.
The facility is more than an expansion of our business; the goal is to bring all third-party filling activities together under one roof. Our new warehouse will allow us to deliver faster, higher-quality service to our customers and expand the range of alcohol and spirits we deliver. With construction well underway and key infrastructure in place, the project remains on schedule to open in April 2026.
Operational Advantages of The New Warehouse
The Halsteren facility is designed to give customers faster access to the products they need, with fewer delays and more control over specifications. Sasma will have greater control over available inventory, so that our customer orders can move through the system more quickly with fewer interruptions. The warehouse will also have the following features:
- Expanded Storage: Sasma will be able to store various grades of ethyl alcohol and spirits across 25 stainless steel tanks. This will reduce lead times and improve availability.
Halsteren can now receive tank trucks and ISOs, as well as load them from our storage tanks. - Automated Filling: The fully automated filling machine will be able to fill drums of all sizes, IBCs, and 20-25 L pails. Less manual handling means faster turnarounds across every batch.
- Custom Blending: Halsteren brings expanded flexibility for customers seeking special blends or strengths.
Mixer-equipped tanks support consistent, customizable blending, and our RO (reverse osmosis) water facility will be used to dilute ethyl alcohols and spirits to any alcohol strength. - New Technology: The facility will run every phase of the operation with new software, including pumps, valves, and tank levels. New workflow sequencing ensures real-time oversight, full traceability, and reduced chances of human error.
- Quality Testing: The on-site laboratory will be equipped to test all of our products before shipping. Regulatory compliance is a core pillar of our operations at Sasma, no matter the market.
Construction Progress & Key Milestones
The Halsteren site has made steady progress over the past several months. Most of the core infrastructure is now in place, from the installation of all 25 steel tanks to the near-completion of office spaces. The construction team has been working diligently to meet the next set of milestones.
Completed or Near-Completed Milestones
- Installation of pipes, pumps, and valves–essential for blending and transfer–began mid-October and remains on schedule.
- A new weighbridge is being added, enabling us to weigh every in and outgoing tank truck.
- Interior painting of the offices, laboratory, and warehouse is nearly finished. It started at the end of October.
- Yard paving and electric installation are progressing on time and nearing completion.
Projected Timeline
- Our contractor is expected to complete construction by mid-December 2025.
- Remaining subcontractor work is scheduled to wrap up by March 2026.
- The full operational launch will be in early April 2026.
What This Expansion Means for Our Customers
The Halsteren warehouse expands our operational footprint and strengthens our ability to serve our customers globally. We look forward to sharing more updates as we approach our opening next year.
