Sasma Opens Advanced Blending, Storage, and Logistics Facility in Halsteren
Halsteren, The Netherlands – May 2026 – Sasma is set to open its new Halsteren facility in June 2026: a purpose-built warehouse and processing site designed to significantly expand the company’s blending, dilution, storage, and logistics capabilities for the global spirits and bulk alcohol market.
Located near the Port of Rotterdam and the Port of Antwerp, the Halsteren facility strengthens Sasma’s role beyond trading — positioning the company as a full production and logistics partner for customers requiring flexibility, speed, and quality control.
The site is equipped with storage and dedicated blending and dilution systems that enable customer-specific formulations to be produced in-house, with controlled processing, consistent batch quality, and full traceability across operations. For customers, this means shorter lead times, custom batch sizes, and greater control over product specifications.
Infrastructure Built for Scale
The Halsteren facility is a state-of-the-art automated warehouse. Featuring substantial on-site tank capacity to support blending, dilution, and storage across a wide range of batch sizes:
-
2 × 35,000 L stainless steel mixing tanks
-
2 × 100,000 L stainless steel mixing tanks
-
1 × 100,000 L stainless steel storage tank
-
20 × 35,000 L stainless steel storage tanks
-
1 × 5,000 L stainless steel reverse osmosis (RO) water tank
This infrastructure enables Sasma to handle seasonal demand peaks and reduce reliance on third-party partners, while supporting flexible, customer-driven production schedules.
Integrated Quality Control
-
Halsteren includes on-site laboratory capability as the first control and approval step for all products handled at the facility. Analytical equipment includes:
-
Anton Paar Density Meter: for accurate alcoholic content measurement
-
Shimadzu UV-Vis Spectrometer: for purity and quality verification
All pure alcohol samples are assessed organoleptically as part of Sasma’s standard quality control framework. Gas chromatography (GC) analysis is performed at Sasma’s Zoetermeer headquarters, ensuring full analytical coverage across both locations.
Built for Growth and Customer Collaboration
The Halsteren facility has been developed from the ground up to support Sasma’s long-term growth and to deepen collaboration with customers seeking flexible production, controlled blending, and scalable logistics solutions across the spirits, food, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and industrial sectors.
“Halsteren gives us the space, infrastructure, and control to better serve our customers — whether that means custom formulations, faster turnaround times, or scalable logistics. It is a decisive step beyond supply.”
— Hans van der Kloot, President, Sasma
Services are being onboarded in phases as operations come fully online. Customers wishing to discuss blending, dilution, storage, or logistics requirements are encouraged to contact the Sasma team directly.
